Below is the general division of groups within lessons. Please note that children will be divided into groups on the first day of class based on ability regardless of what level is selected on the form, so please select whatever you feel is closest to accurate while filling out registration.

    Pre-Beginner Beginner Advanced Beginner
A beginner is a child without much experience in the water. Their sessions would be focused on putting their face in the water, floating, blowing
    bubbles, beginning to kick, etc.
A swim beginner has some experience in the water, is comfortable putting their face in the water, but does not know how to swim quite yet. Their lessons will be focused on kicking with a board, learning to pull, breathing while they swim, and learning to swim. This is for kids who know how to swim, but aren't ready for the team (maybe they can't quite make it half way across the pool). These lessons will focus on stroke fundamentals, completing a length of the pool, and preparing them to be confident swimmers.

In the event of an unforeseen pool closure (such as inclement weather) lessons will be canceled. We will do our best to offer make-ups for cancelled lessons. While it is our goal, we are unable to guarantee eight 30-minute lessons for each session. In the event that we are unable to offer a makeup class or you are unable to attend a lesson, we will not offer a partial refund.

Note: In case of inclement weather, check the Robin Hood Swim Club Facebook page or call Robin Hood at 301-384-9732  30 minutes before your lesson time to check for cancellation.

    NOTE TO PARENTS:

If your child is in a morning lesson, please note that the pool is not open before, after, or during your lesson. Meaning only lesson participants are allowed in the water, and will not be allowed in the pool before or after their designated lesson time. All lessons participants and family must leave the pool grounds after their lesson, and members will be allowed to re-enter when the pool opens at 11.

    NOTE TO NON-MEMBERS:

Non-members are invited to participate in morning lessons only. Afternoon lessons are for members only. Afternoon swim lessons are just one perk of joining the pool! If you are interested in becoming a member you can find more information on  the New Members page.
